 Cabbage soup

with sausage and hamburger

Cabbage Soup is the PERFECT savory vegetable soup made with Sausage, hamburger, Onions, and spices, ready in under 10 minutes! (includes prep time!) Quick, Easy and Delicious! Directions for Instant Pot, Crock Pot, and Stove Top.

You Will Need

  • 1/2 Large Cabbage

  • 1/2 Pound Hamburger

  • 1/2 Pound Sausage

  • 2 TBSP Oil

  • 1/2 Stick Butter

  • 1 Medium Onion (Quartered twice)

  • 2 Cups Chicken Broth

  • 1 TBSP Garlic Powder

  • 1 TBSP Onion Powder

  • 1 TBSP Italian Seasoning

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 1/4 tsp Pepper

Directions For Instant Pot Cabbage Soup

Directions For Stove Top

  • Turn heat to medium

  • Add Your Oil, Butter, Hamburger, sausage . Saute until hamburger and sausage are browned.

  • Add chicken broth and onion

  • Chop cabbage into large chunks and add to pan

  • Add Garlic, onion powder, Italian Seasoning, Salt and pepper

  • Cover and simmer until cabbage starts to wilt and onions become translucent.

  • Remove lid, and let liquid evaporate (or until Cabbage is how you like it.)  Enjoy~!

  • Turn your Saute on

  • Add Your Oil, Butter, Hamburger, sausage and onion. Saute until hamburger and sausage are browned and onions are almost translucent. 

  • Turn Saute off and add chicken broth

  • Chop cabbage into large chunks and add to instant pot.

  • Add Garlic, onion powder, Italian Seasoning, Salt and pepper

  • Place your lid on, press manual (or pressure cook) for 3 min. 

  • Once done, wait for your pressure valve to go down completely, and open your lid, stir and Enjoy~!

Directions For Crockpot

  • Brown the beef and sausage in a medium skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks, until mostly cooked through.

  • Add the onion to the beef

  • Drain the grease and add the beef, sausage and onion to crock pot.

  • Add butter, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning and cabbage, chicken broth, and salt and pepper to the crock pot and cover.

  • Cook on high for 4 hours.
