pineapple glazed ham

 Old-Fashioned Glazed Ham recipe gets its classic sweetness from pineapples, Butter Syrup and mustard. This recipe is so easy to do and the glaze doesn't take away the flavor of the ham. (It just adds complete and total goodness!)

You Will Need

2.5 Pound Ham

1 (15.5 oz) Can Chunked Pineapple with Juice

3/4 Cup Butter Syrup

1 TBSP Mustard

2 TBSP Corn Starch

1 and 1/4 cup Water (divided)

Ham is typically used in its sliced form, often as a filling for sandwiches and similar foods, such as in the ham sandwich and ham and cheese sandwich. Other variations include toasted sandwiches such as the croque-monsieur and the Cubano. It is also a popular topping for pizza

Directions

1. Turn instant pot on saute, add pineapple (with juice,) Syrup, and mustard. (Stir for about 10 min)

2. To a small bowl add corn starch and water, mix well. Add Corn starch mixture to your instant pot and stir , it should thicken quickly. (Stir about 1 to 2 min) or until desired thickness

3. Take your inner pot out of your instant pot and poor into another bowl (set aside and wash inner pot)

4. Add your trivet to your inner pot, and place your sling on top of your trivet. Wrap ham in aluminum foil tightly and place in sling. (this will make it easier to take out.)

5. Add 1 Cup Water, place your lid on, make sure you are on sealing and not venting, press manual (or pressure cook) for 40 minutes. (Instant Release)

6. Once pressure valve goes down, open lid and place ham on a plate (slice) Place your ham back into your foil (make sure there is a bowl shape around your ham)

7. Poor your glaze over the top of your ham. Place back on your sling, make sure you are on sealing and not venting, reset timer for 20 more minutes) (instant release) Wait for your pressure button to go down and open lid. Move to a serving platter. Enjoy!~

Note:  you CAN cook the ham first, then make your glaze and pour over top once it is in a serving dish.  (as long as you cook it for 60 minutes.) broil 10" from the heat for 10 to 15 minutes, watching carefully until the glaze is cooked.
