The Best Burrito Filling

Imagine rolling this enticing filling inside a warm and soft flour tortilla, wrapping it all up into a delicious burrito that you can savor at any time of day. Whether enjoyed as a hearty lunch, a satisfying dinner, or a delightful snack, our Mexican Burrito Filling is a fiesta of flavors that promises to delight your senses and satisfy your cravings.

You Will Need

1 Pound Hamburger

1 med/lg Onion (diced)

2 TBSP Minced Garlic

1 Can Rotel 

1 can corn (drained)

1 Can Black or Pinto Beans
(Rinsed and drained)

1  4 oz. Can diced Green Chili's

1 TBSP Chili Powder

1 tsp Pepper

2 tsp Salt

2 TBSP Butter

1 Sprig Rosemary

1 Package Taco Seasoning
3/4 Cup Water

1 1/2 Cup Cheddar Cheese

Extra Toppings


Sour Cream



How to fold a burrito-

  • Prepare your fillings:  Follow Directions Below

  • Warm the tortilla: If using a store-bought tortilla, it's best to warm it up first. You can do this by placing it in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 10-15 seconds on each side or by microwaving it for a few seconds until it becomes soft and pliable.

  • Position the fillings: Lay the warmed tortilla flat on a clean surface or in your hand, making sure it's perpendicular to your body. Place your fillings in the center of the tortilla, leaving some space at the edges.

  • Fold the sides: Fold the two sides of the tortilla (left and right) over the fillings. This helps to enclose the edges of the burrito and prevent the fillings from falling out.

  • Begin rolling: Start rolling the burrito away from you, tucking the folded sides in as you go. Use your fingers to keep the fillings in place while rolling.

  • Continue rolling: As you roll, make sure to keep the burrito tight but not too tight to avoid tearing the tortilla. Keep tucking in the sides as needed to maintain a neat and compact shape.

  • Finish rolling: Once you've rolled the burrito completely, give it a gentle squeeze to secure the closure. The weight of the ingredients should hold it together.

  • Optional: For a more secure seal, you can fold in the ends of the burrito. To do this, fold in one end of the burrito, then continue rolling it tightly, and finally, fold in the other end.

  • You've successfully folded a burrito! Now you can enjoy your delicious creation or wrap it in foil or parchment paper to make it easier to hold and eat on the go. Enjoy your burrito with your favorite sauces, guacamole, or salsa.

Start by dicing Onion, add to ground beef,  minced garlic,  Add salt and pepper, cook until onions are almost translucent.  and add beans and Rotel

The Best Mexican Filling

Add chili powder, butter, rosemary, green chili, corn (drained) 1 package taco seasoning and water.  Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. (until most of the liquid is gone.) Remove Rosemary

Easy Burrito Filling Recipe

Top with 1 1/2 cup cheese. You can either fill tortilla chip dippers with 1 tsp filling or add 2 TBSP Sour cream to a small tortilla and  1/2 cup filling. It's Heaven!
