You Will Need

Buffalo Sauce Ingredients:
 

  • 1/2 Stick butter

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (Best Choice Hot Sauce)

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to your preferred level of spiciness)

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 

Buffalo Chicken Dip

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken or cooked chicken breasts)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing

  • 1/2 cup prepared Buffalo sauce (from the recipe above)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup crumbled Feta cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or celery sticks for serving

How to make Homemade Instant Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip with Buffalo Sauce

Instructions for Instant Pot Buffalo Sauce:

  • Set your Instant Pot to the "Sauté" function and add the butter. Once the butter is melted, stir in the hot sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir well to combine.

  • Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is well combined and heated through. Taste the sauce and add salt if needed.

  • Once the Buffalo sauce is ready, press the "Cancel" button on the Instant Pot to turn off the heat.

Instructions for Instant Pot Buffalo Chicken:

  • In the Instant Pot, add the cream cheese, ranch dressing, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the ingredients are well combined and the cream cheese has melted.

  • Add the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and crumbled Feta cheese to the Instant Pot. Mix well to incorporate all the ingredients.

  • Pour the prepared Buffalo sauce into the mixture and stir until the sauce is evenly distributed throughout the dip.

  • Transfer the mixture into a heatproof baking dish that fits inside your Instant Pot.

  • Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot and place a trivet or steam rack in the pot. Carefully place the baking dish with the dip on top of the trivet.

  • Close the Instant Pot lid and set it to "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" mode for 5 minutes at high pressure.

  • Once the cooking time is complete, perform a quick pressure release.

  • Carefully remove the baking dish from the Instant Pot using oven mitts or a trivet.

  • Let the dip cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • If desired, garnish with chopped green onions for a pop of color and freshness.

How to make Stove Top/Oven Homemade Buffalo Chicken Dip with Buffalo Sauce

For the Sauce

  2. Once the butter is melted, add the hot sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

  3. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld together.

  4. Taste the sauce and add salt if needed. Some hot sauces are already quite salty, so adjust according to your preference.

  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the Buffalo sauce cool for a few minutes. It will thicken slightly as it cools.

  6. Once the Buffalo sauce has cooled a bit, you can use it immediately in your Buffalo Chicken Dip

 

For the Dip
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, prepared Buffalo sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and creamy.

  2. Add the shredded chicken to the mixture and stir until the chicken is evenly coated with the creamy Buffalo mixture.

  3. Stir in 3/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 3/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.

  4. Gently fold in the crumbled Feta cheese. The Feta cheese will add a tangy flavor and creamy texture to the dip.

  5. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish, spreading it evenly.

  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup each of cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top of the dip.

  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the dip is hot and bubbly, and the cheese on top is melted and slightly golden.
