Strawberry Sauce (Filling)
You Will Need
Filling
3 cups sliced strawberries
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
2 TBSP Lemon Juice
4 TBSP Starch
4 TBSP Water

There is many uses for Strawberry Topping (Filling) Whether you are using it for a simple ice cream topping or for our Cinnamon Strawberry Shortcake, this is one recipe that not only taste better then any store bought, but it's so easy to make! You can use fresh strawberries or frozen. Another great use is pie fillings, this would make a fantastic strawberry pie . This strawberry topping is completely wonderful over pancakes, waffles, pie, cheesecake, or English trifle, you name it! This is our favorite and easiest way to make strawberry sauce.
Directions
1. Slice strawberries
2. Add Sugar and Lemon Juice and mix well.
3. Let Mixture sit on your counter top for at least 15 to 20 min (until juices release)
4. Transfer to a pot and let cook on medium low stirring frequently.
5. When strawberries start to soften and the liquid is clear (all sugar has dissolved)
6. Mix Corn Starch and water in a small bowl, and pour into the sauce. A little at a time till you get the thickness you want. I used all 4 TBSP.
In the end I added 2 sliced banana's for a Strawberry Banana Filling (Topping) to make my Cinnamon, Strawberry Banana Shortcake recipe.
