How to Make Classic Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Casserole


Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Sausage with Vegetables:

In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until it starts to brown. Add the diced onion and chopped bell pepper to the skillet. Continue cooking until the sausage is fully cooked and the vegetables are softened and fragrant. Drain any excess fat and set aside.

Prepare the Egg Mixture:

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, salt, pepper, and dry mustard until well combined.

Assemble the Casserole:

Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread the cubed bread evenly in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle the sausage, onion, and bell pepper mixture over the bread cubes. Then, layer the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sausage mixture.

Pour the Egg Mixture:
