-
Place the trivet or steamer basket into your Instant Pot.
-
Add one cup of water to the Instant Pot.
-
Carefully place the eggs on the trivet or steamer basket, making sure they are not touching the water.
-
Close the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to the sealing position.
-
Select the "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" setting on the Instant Pot and set the timer for 3 minutes for medium-sized eggs, or 4 minutes for large-sized eggs. For extra-large eggs, you can try 5 to 6 minutes.
-
The Instant Pot will take some time to come to pressure, and then it will start the cooking process.
-
Once the timer goes off, perform a quick pressure release by carefully turning the valve to the venting position. Be cautious of the hot steam.
-
Once the pressure has fully released, carefully open the Instant Pot lid.
-
Use a slotted spoon to remove the eggs from the Instant Pot and place them in a bowl of cold water or an ice bath for a few minutes. This will stop the cooking process and help the eggs peel easily.
-
Gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel the shell away.
Your soft-boiled eggs are now ready to enjoy! They can be served on their own with a sprinkle of salt and pepper or used in various dishes like ramen, salads, or as a breakfast accompaniment. Enjoy!
