What is Imitation Crab Meat?

Crab sticks, crab sticks, imitation crab meat or seafood sticks are a type of seafood made of starch and finely pulverized white fish that has been shaped and cured to resemble the leg meat of snow crab or Japanese spider crab. It is a product that uses fish meat to imitate shellfish meat. Imitation crab is cooked, so it is usually safe for a pregnant woman to eat. However, it is crucial to ask if there are other raw products in foods, such as sushi, before eating them. Imitation crab is typically less expensive than real crab and contains Pollock, egg whites, artificial flavoring, and sugar.
